Cusipata Rafting Cusco: The Urubamba River stretches from the high Andes stretching across the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Machupicchu and past in the jungle. The Urubamba is divided into Upper Urubamba and Lower Urubamba, the division’s function is Pongo de Mainique, a white water canyon that opens on the Amazon plain. It has some exciting white water depending on the section of the river being made and the time of year. One of our most popular rafting sections during the season is the “Chuquicahuna- (Chuqui),” section of the river in the Upper Urubamba. There are good areas of classes III fast and the water is not polluted, as unfortunately the Sacred Valley of the Incas River sections is. This section is perfect for day trips, with good class II, III and III + fast. Excellent panoramic view next to the river, with large eucalyptus trees and beautiful flowers. This rafting section is all year round and from early December to late March the river is class IV.
