Sacred Valley Tour Full Day, This Valley of the Incas was undoubtedly a key area of settlement to the Incas. Its agreeable climate and fertile plains make a rare and fruitful combination for the high Andes. It was also the route to the jungle and therefore an area with access to the fruits and plants of the tropical lowlands. The Sacred Valley served as a buffer zone, protecting Cusco from incursions of the Antis, the fierce jungle tribes who from time to time raided the highlands.

In the first instance we will visit the archeological site of Pisaq, which in the Inca era was a strategic military point due to its location. Then we will descend to visit the colorful artisan market in the town of Pisaq.
Then we will continue our journey to the city of Urubamaba where we will stop for lunch.
After lunch, we will go to the fortress of Ollantaytambo, an Inca city that had a religious, political and agricultural function.
